My passion for hand drawn type, punk and destroying traditions were all brought forth in this project. As I was designing for the Queer Arts Festival, I wanted to make sure the theme of activism and protest were front and center. The type is hand-traced Helvetica, breaking the colonial history of the typeface and instead reusing it for queer liberation. Many of the images have been manually altered and scanned to relay the DIY nature of the queer and punk subcultures.
